Kevin Reilly ’17, a Rice University graduate who majored in Sport Management and minored in Business, recently began working with Eventellect as a pricing analyst.
Eventellect is a company that works with professional sports teams and venues to develop and execute pricing and distribution strategies. As a pricing analyst, Reilly works with the teams by analyzing the market to create pricing strategies that work for each team.
“Each market is different,” said Reilly. “Therefore, it is important for my team and I to closely evaluate the supply and demand for each client.”
Reilly credits his Rice experience for getting him to where he is today. Reilly was a member of the Rice golf team and won numerous Conference USA awards. Although he participated in a year-round sport, the Department of Sport Management was able to help him secure an internship with Official Fan Package.
During his internship experience, Reilly was able to learn about the ticketing industry and develop meaningful connections. After working at Official Fan Package for seven months after graduation, Reilly accepted an offer from Eventellect and has been there since January 2018.
“One of the best things about Eventellect is the variation,” said Reilly. “There’s so much variation everyday because of the volatility of team sports. Team competitiveness, trades, opposing players, the list goes on and on. They all factor into how we strategize prices. I’ve only been here for a couple months, but I’m very excited about this opportunity.”
Henry Lanear, a junior from Kansas City, Missouri, is majoring in Sport Management and minoring in business.
