Kait Chura ’12 begins career at Apple

Kait Chura, a 2011 Rice University graduate with a degree in Sports Management and also Film Studies, now works full-time with the most valuable company in the world, Apple.

Working as a Product Specialist at Apple is a huge opportunity for Chura, and is a popular and competitive job for many college graduates given the learning environment it offers with an internationally successful, publicly traded company. Chura works with both customer service and sales, which both require the refinement of great interpersonal skills. Chura works alongside other talented employees, who bring with them different backgrounds and skill-sets. Thus, she will not only grow as a salesperson and Apple stock trader, but also as a team member on one of the world’s most successful technological teams.

I chose to work at Apple because of the environment. The people that work there are so different but they each have something to contribute, so I felt like I wanted to be a part of that. They're the reason why I want to come to work every day. This job doesn’t feel like work but instead an opportunity to hang out with my friends.”

The job is very competitive, with thousands of her generation vying for such an opportunity. Chura expressed her satisfaction with her decision by saying, “Now that I've been working there for a while, I feel comfortable saying that I made an amazing choice by working at Apple. It is so much fun to learn about the latest technology, which is going to be something that I can apply to anything in do in life. It is just a great environment for someone who just got out of college. I hope that something Apple related will continue to be in my future.”

While employed at Apple, Chura hopes to achieve pro-status certification on Final Cut Pro which is an industry-favorite video editing software developed by Macromedia Inc. and then Apple. By achieving pro-status in Final Cut Pro, she will pursue her dream career of film making.
