Senior Sport Management major Jimmy Comerota received the TAHPERED Outstanding Student of the Year Award at last Sunday's baseball game against Eastern Carolina University. TAHPERED is the Texas state physical education association, which through this award recognizes an outstanding student who has excelled in scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
Jimmy recently was awarded the Roemmich Sport Management Achievement Award. This award is presented annually to the top graduating senior enrolled in the sport management program at Rice University. He is a member of the Rice Owls Baseball Team, where he is recognized as one of the top players on the team.
Jimmy, who has played number of positions on the Rice baseball team over the years, was nominated for this award by Dr. Jimmy Disch who has been a member of TAHPERD since 1973.
