The Public Relations Department at the Houston Texans has been named the recipient of the annual Pete Rozelle Award. The basis of the award is to honor the media relations staff that have best helped Pro Football Writers of America members to do their jobs. Part of the Houston Public Relations staff who helped the group achieve the award was Rice Sport Management Alum Charles Hampton ('09).
The Houston Texans PR Department is not new to this award as the department has won the Pete Rozelle Award three times in 2004, 2007, and 2010. Within the last decade the Houston Texans PR Department has won the award more often then any other PR department within the National Football League. Charles Hampton ('09) and his colleagues will receive a plaque presented by a representative of the Pro Football Writers of America before a 2010 Texans home game.
