Recently, Stephanie Swingle ’07 was featured on the prominent industry podcast “Marketing Today” to discuss her work at Mizzen + Main as well as the career path that led her to her current role as Chief Marketing Officer. Mizzen + Main has disrupted the menswear market by incorporating sport performance fabrics into its products, a trait that has provided Swingle with a fun challenge in her role as she strives to always be “taking risks in the right way.” Perhaps Swingle’s most famous promotion was this commercial with Phil Mickelson.
Swingle’s current success started with her undergraduate internship in coordination with Rice Sport Management. She worked as a marketing intern with the Houston Aeros, during which she worked in strategic partnerships, ticket sales, and community involvement. After Rice, she worked as a strategy consultant at Accenture before obtaining her MBA from Harvard Business School. Swingle then worked her way up to Senior Marketing Manager for Lay’s (inside of the PepsiCo brand) before jumping into her current role at Mizzen + Main. Through all of her success, Swingle admits that although she’s “super shy - I find a lot of confidence in numbers and being able to make data-driven decisions on things.”
