Rice University has honored four Sport Management majors who were the top scholar athletes of their respective sports during 2008. Britney Williams '10 (cross country), Aleks Perka '09 (basketball), Jimmy Comerota '10 (baseball), and Sarah Lyons '10 (track & field) each gave a speech and received a plaque at the Rice University Scholar Athlete banquet on Feb. 15, 2009.
All student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher will also recognized at the banquet. This included the following Sport Management majors: LaToya Adekoya (track & field), Chris Brown (football), Simon Bucknell (cross country), James Casey(football), Dietrich Davis (football), Christopher Douglas (football), Cat Flores (basketball), Abel Gonzales (baseball), Charles Hampton (track & field), Zach Harwood (baseball), Tommy Henderson (football), Brock Holt (baseball), Chris Kelley (baseball), Natalie Kirchhoff (swimming), Kara Lawrence (basketball), Will Moss (football), Andrew Novak (football), Toby Scheil (tennis), Andrew Sendejo (football), Preston Thompson (football), Taylor Wardlow (football), and Tiondra Wright (basketball).
