Leslie Hinshaw named co-winner of the Hermance Award

Sport Management major Leslie Hinshaw '10 is one of the three winners of the Hermance Award which goes to the top student in the Kinesiology Department. The other winners are Marisol Alvarado (Health Sciences) and Angela Wo (Sport Medicine).

The Hermance Award is given to the student "who has exhibited exemplary qualities of scholarship, leadership, character and service during his or her undergraduate experience." Previous Sport Management winners of the Hermance Award include Marcos Ramos(2005), Zach Thomas (2006), Sparky Frost (2007), Lindsay Balthrop (2008), and Natalie Kirchhoff (2009).

Leslie has taken full advantage of her experience at Rice University and within the Sport Management Program as she has completed six internships prior to graduation. Her experiences included working for the Empire 66ers (group sales), Los Angeles Dodgers (inside sales), Houston Aeros (Community Relations), Rice Athletics (Marketing), and the Houston Texans (Executive Office). After graduation, Hinshaw will attend Law School at Loyola Marmount in Los Angeles, California.
