RSBS Event - Inside the War Room: Evaluating NFL Talent11/12/14
The Rice Sport Business Society (RSBS) will be hosting an interview between Neil Stratton, President of Inside the League, and Miller McCalmon, former Assistant Director of Pro Personnel with the National Football League's (NFL) Detroit Lions. McCalmon will discuss his 35 years of NFL experience as a scout, coach, and administrator. Stratton will also touch on how to get started in the talent evaluation industry.
Sport Management Students Acquire a Slew of Summer Internships
Many students majoring in Sport Management at Rice University are taking advantage of their free time during summer to intern in the sport and entertainment industry. At press time, more than 20 students have acquired internships for this summer.

Dylan Mah ’14 Aces Internship with Women’s Tennis Association05/05/14
Dylan Mah ’14 has been working this past spring as an intern with the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), the principle organizing body for women’s worldwide professional tennis. Mah’s internship is located in Singapore at the headquarters of the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region of the organization.
Dr. Jason Sosa Visits Singapore to Explore Exchange Program Opportunity04/30/14
In mid-April, Dr. Jason Sosa, a professor in Rice University’s Department of Sport Management, traveled to Singapore to explore international education and internship opportunities. Sosa hopes to develop an exchange program between Rice’s Sport Management Department and Nanyang Technological University’s (NTU) Sport Science and Management program.
