In mid-April, Dr. Jason Sosa, a professor in Rice University’s Department of Sport Management, traveled to Singapore to explore international education and internship opportunities. Sosa hopes to develop an exchange program between Rice’s Sport Management Department and Nanyang Technological University’s (NTU) Sport Science and Management program.

Eboni Sutherland ’17, who is a member of Rice University’s women’s track and field team and plans on majoring in Sport Management and minoring in Business, has been accepted into the United States Olympic Committee’s (USOC) Finding Leaders Among Minorities Everywhere (FLAME) program.

Sport Management Team Competes in National Baseball Analytics Competition

Evan Stackpole ’14, Justin Wolin ’15, Travis Guzzardo ’16, and Jeremy Reiskind ’17, all majoring in Sport Management at Rice University, competed in the third annual Diamond Dollars Case Competition, a national event held in conjunction with the SABR (Society for American Baseball Research) Analytics Conference. The competition and conference took place in Phoenix, Ariz., from March 13-15.
